Rounds 3 and 4 of the Sussex County Championships

Published on 23 March 2010

Evan Draper - St Bede's Aquatic ClubRounds 3 and 4 of the Sussex County Championships delivered yet more success for the St Bede’s swimming squad. There were some superb swims with the whole squad making personal best times and trying desperately to hang on to first place. At the end it wasn’t to be, but nevertheless it was a brilliant achievement for St Bede’s to finish second overall against a club many times larger. The boys took first place in both the Open Men’s and Junior Boys with the girls finishing second in the Open Women’s and Junior Girls. Head Coach Kevin Ayers could not stop smiling and was full of praise for his swimmers, “they were all simply outstanding! What a championship! For only a handful of swimmers to challenge at this level means we’ve got something right!

Evan Draper deserves a special mention as in only his first season with St Bede’s he won the overall 13 year old boy title and has put a tremendous amount of hard work into achieving this result.
