St Bede's Aquatic Club

St Bede's Aquatic Club was formed in 2004 by the Head Coach of St Bede's School, Kevin Ayers (also see all about Kevin Ayers). Quite simply the Aquatics Club allows ambitious swimmers the chance to be coached by Kevin and take full advantage of all the facilities that are available without having to attend St Bede's School.
St Bede's Aquatics is a “no frills” club for swimmers who genuinely want to improve themselves and head towards County, Regional and National levels through talent, hard work and continuous learning.

Facilities include:

  • 6 lane 25m pool (22 hours available pool time per week)
  • Fully equipped gym with the latest state of the art equipment
  • Multi-purpose sports hall

It may be possible for Aquatic Club swimmers that show potential at a high level to take advantage of the Scholarship program at St Bede's School. Current swimmers that have taken this route include Michael Faber, Andrew Horsfall-Turner, Harriet Lambourne, Stephanie Ketley and Mary Carless.

A question that we are asked some times is Do I have to attend St Bede’s School to swim for the Club?

*Please note swimmers do NOT need to attend St Bedes School to swim at the club.
